Haunted for years by dreams of a savage, amber eyed Dominant with lips so enticing my soul ached in frustration and lust. None of the Dominants at Genesis, my local BDSM club ever stirred me in such blistering ways. While I tried to fill my submissive desires vicariously through interactions at the club, I attempted to convince myself it was enough. But it wasn’t. My dream Dom made certain I hungered for more.

Forced beyond what I could bear, my passion and frustration exploded. I threw in the towel, determined to stop chasing a dream and gave up completely on finding submissive surrender. But fate intervened when two gunshots split the night. Forced to confront my desires and insecurities, I was shocked to realize that my dreams may have held a deeper meaning. Were they compelling me to finally embrace my submission?

Sometimes fate steps in to give us what we need to be happy and not always what we want in life and at the end of the day we are better for it. ‘Embracing My Submission’ is the first book in the Doms of Genesis by Jenna Jacob. This book takes the reader through a range of emotions.

Julianna is a submissive looking for a Dom. She works as a CPA during the day and is a submissive that goes by the name of Emerald at night. Her first Dom hurt her. I spent most of the book feeling sorry for Julianna and annoyed with those around her. Julianna is unclaimed after four years and it’s no wonder that she had self-esteem issues. I wondered why she hung on so long. I also wondered about her so called friends. I find it hard to believe that they did not notice her self-esteem issues or where they so self-absorbed that they did not care. Julianna was under the protection of Drake while at the club. I wonder if Drake kept other Doms away on purpose.

Mika is the owner of Genesis. His first wife died from cancer. In the beginning Mika thought that Doms could only love one slave. Mika got the shock of a life time when Julianna walked into the club. Julianna was the spitting image of Mika’s dead wife. Mika has the air of mystery about him. I loved this character but was frustrated at the same time by some of the things he pulled. I do not like people that do not try to have a conversation with someone before trying to teach them a lesson. It comes across as childish without the conversation.

The author did a wonderful job with sex scenes. They were hot and steamy. There was such chemistry between Mika and Julianna. It was apparent in and out the bedroom. It’s apparent the author did a lot of research in the BDSM lifestyle.

This book sucks you in and does not let you go until the very end. It takes you through a range of emotions. While I have not read Jenna Jacobs before, I cannot wait to read more from this author.
