Newspaper editor Evelyn Barkley has isolated herself in the tiny Colorado town of Clearwater for three years, trying to get over a bad relationship. But one night at a collaring near Denver, she discovers Lieutenant Logan Hendricks, a Clearwater cop who has always pushed the wrong buttons for her, is a Dom without a sub.

Despite her misgivings, Evelyn agrees to submit to Logan, who finds her “dungeon” solely lacking. But he has a solution: gifts of ropes, clips, clamps and other assorted toys that will make their holiday very happy indeed.

Evelyn quickly discovers that she and Logan are a perfect fit, especially when she’s tied up for their mutual pleasure. Now if they can just keep their toys a secret from nosy townspeople, oh, and find a murderer before he gets away, it’ll be the best Christmas ever.

Evelyn “Inky” Barkley has sworn off men after a bad experience with her last Dom, but then she finds out that Lieutenant Logan Hendricks is a Dom and she’s willing to try again.

I really liked the dynamic between Eve and Logan, it’s obvious that although they’ve known each other for years, that until now was not the right time for them to get together. My favorite part is the way that the building of the Dungeon so closely mirrored the building of their relationship. The author does a good job of tying it together, and then she threw in an element of suspense which really worked for the story.

The scenes where Inky and Sir Logan were playing were exciting, creative and very sexy. The author does a good job finding new and creative ways for Logan to punish and reward Eve and to bring her back into the lifestyle in a way where she can be comfortable with her needs again. I also loved some of the colorful small town characters and other members of the lifestyle that the author threw in to help color the story and they really work.

I definitely recommend this for fans of a bit kink, a bit of romance and aren’t afraid of a bit of suspense with their erotic romance.
