Chaz would far rather be with her. She’s one sexy handful. With Christmas near, both fantasies may just come true and maybe they’ll find their own happily-ever-after along the way.

It’s one thing to give someone a surprise. It’s quite another to surprise them with a herd of reindeer.

Ms. Kerce has an incredibly descriptive writing style that pulled me into every single scene. From the taste of lasagne to the sight of reindeer adjusting to their new home, I felt like I was standing next to the characters and experiencing everything through their eyes from the beginning to the end. This was the first time I’d ever read one of this author’s stories, but I will be keeping an eye out for what she comes up with next.

While I was amused by the idea of Cherry delivering reindeer to Chaz instead of the horses he was expecting, I would have really liked to see more time spent developing this plot twist. Chaz’s reactions to the big surprise weren’t always consistent with how I would have expected this character to behave based on what the narrator shared about his personality previously. It would have been helpful to spend more time on this so that I could have a better understanding of whether or not he was acting like his normal self. If not for this issue, I would have chosen a much higher rating for this book.

The saucy dialogue made me grin. Both of the main characters were witty and intelligent, so they were always ready to say cheeky things to each other when the mood was right. What made their conversations even better was that Chaz and Cherry were so equally matched intellectually speaking. I liked seeing how their banter carried over into the sex scenes, too.

Give Christmas Cowboy a try if you’re in the mood for something playful.
