Voices nearing the surgery room filtered through the swinging doors and one deep baritone sent a shiver of awareness dancing under Krista’s suddenly tight skin. This was a surprise since I’d never though of an Amish and a Dom. That scenario was a little difficult to imagine but thanks to the author, I could safely say that this was a great book.

When Hannah moves into the city, she had to learn some of the simple things like driving a car and navigating the bustling city. She also has to get used the number of changes that came with it. Her willingness to try is one of the things that made her endearing as a character.

Mitch is a very good with his hands and he promised his neighbors that he would keep an eye on their niece when she came to house sit for them. Somehow keeping an eye changed to keeping a hand and everything else on her, too. Mitch feels an instant lust for her and vice-versa, however with the amount of time they spend with each other, it became obvious very quickly that there was the chance for more.

Mitch is a Dom and Hannah’s only relationship was her husband. Sounds like a potential for trouble. She was completely innocent to Mitch’s ways, but she didn’t give up. Her determination is awesome. Neither character let up and that was great to read.

The characters were interesting and detailed. They had fantastic chemistry that steamed off the pages. Their story isn’t long but it was satisfying and an easy recommend.

But in Anna he finds compatible in every possible way imaginable.

Finding a new author is like finding buried treasure. I thought this was a amazing read, even though when I picked it I had no clue what I’d be reading, really. It didn’t have a cliff hanger nor does it seem like it will be a “series” book. Instead, the author very cleverly wove three stories into one read. They are separate stories but by the end they all mesh together to make one well developed novel. That was just one thing that pulled me in and kept me there.

I met three women in the same situation but who handle themselves differently. Abby, Grace and Cat are human women and mates to vampires. Abby is a ward who’s been around vamps most of her life and is all grown up now, Grace is somewhat naïve and a sheltered homebody and Catlin is a bar owner. The brethren are a group of male vampires who watch over the city and are destined to be mated. The way the group of men are described almost reminded me of another series. The book lost a bit of its originality with that but it was the only drawback. There was plenty to keep me reading beyond that similarity.

What awesome play with words, as sexy alpha males try to contend with their equally stubborn human mates. The wise cracking, the teasing among the characters was a good fit, almost as if I could close my eyes and see the story playing out. There was one wee twist that threw me for a second, then I completely agreed. There is a bit of danger as a old nemesis the brethren thought dead shows herself. The hot scenes were all wow, yep, I needed to fan my face. There was some hints of BDSM but not much mostly the alpha male tendencies. Oh, I just fell in love with Tasha and Micah.  The ending was surprising, but HEA. I enjoyed it and it listed as a favorite. Enjoy!

At first, my initial response to the story was that it reminded me of the old Victoria Holt mysteries with a brooding murderer lurking about. Add in sex at every single turn and you have something that would make even the most adventurous person blush. Adrian and the rest of the family are openly sexual in front of everyone in the house, hence the turnover in housekeepers. It is a bit shocking to find yourself in the midst of an orgy when you are trying to clean.

While I enjoyed the plot, dialogue and Sophie’s sexual awakening, I did feel that the sex was over the top. The author did a great job with each scene, but there were so many, I felt my eyes glazing over on a couple of occasions where I wanted to find out about the murderer or what happened to the cat. Also, the personal dynamics between Adrian, the oldest brother and owner of the manse and Sophie was the main focus, but I wanted more from their interactions. There was a repeated reference about the grief of both Adrian and Sophie that felt a little like an echo.

Overall, the story was great and the sex was smoking hot. Menage action at every turn with some one on one with Adrian and Sophie that scorched my e-reader made this a great read, but again, I would have liked a few more mystery elements.

If you have a fondness for Gothic style mysteries with a flair for wild sex parties than dip your toes in this one.

The sex is hot but a tad blunt. I wanted to see more emotion on his side. What was his motivation for his actions and why not another way? Some parts seemed written hot just for sex’s sake and not so much to advance the story.

Still, I liked the novella. The sex was hot and the characters interesting. I wasn’t totally keen on the ending, but then again, it worked for the plot and left the idea open for more.

If you want story with plenty of heat, then read Brazen. I give this story 3.5 cherries.
